Ice Crosspaths
super brittle, az, icicle impale
Super Brittle - 5xx
- Middle crosspath: +33% attack speed
- Bottom crosspath: +35% range, re-freezes bloons
Since this upgrade is mainly used to debuff MOAB-class and sometimes super cerams, it’s better to have it attack faster and provide full debuff uptime rather than increase its range. Even if it didn’t debuff, having attack speed is far better than range. Note that the middle path deep freeze does nothing in terms of debuffing, so usually going for enhanced freeze is good enough.
Absolute Zero - x5x
- Top crosspath: Gains permafrost - 50% slow to bloons, 25% slow to MOABs
- Bottom crosspath: +35% range, re-freezes bloons
After some testing, it seems that absolute zero can actually “re-freeze” bloons without bottom crosspath. Thus, top path is automatically better, since the permafrost slow is extremely good late game, especially since the ability has infinite pierce and basically slows everything on the screen at the time of the ability.
Icicle Impale - xx5
- Top crosspath: Gains permafrost - 50% slow to bloons, 25% slow to MOABs, can attack lead/camo
- Middle crosspath: +33% attack speed
Although top crosspath gives it the ability to stall DDTs without a MIB, it cannot consistently stall DDTs as it lacks the attack speed. Thus, it’s always better given the upgrade’s usability to go with the middle crosspath and put it in range of a MIB so it can permastall DDTs.
